Northeast Columbia Information Situated northeast of downtown Columbia, this part of town is one of the fastest growing areas in Greater Columbia. The soil is sandy and for the most part the terrain is flat with pine trees dominating the forests. Route 277, an expressway with limited access, connects Northeast Columbia with downtown.
